This week, we said goodbye to a king among rabbits, our beloved Potato. Nine years ago, my new boyfriend Adam adopted a one year old bunny. We named him Potato and we loved him with all of our hearts. We have now been married for six years and Potato has been our fur son all this time. As a person who doesn't want kids, Potato was incredibly special to us; he made us into a family.
I know a lot of people out there had a special love for Potato so we hope you think good thoughts for him as he joins that rabbit warren in the sky. We think he will come back in another life as a very proper English gentleman with a top hat and a monocle. Until then, we will miss you so much little bear and I will see you in my dreams.
Aww, I'm sorry. Bunnies are special animals. I hope I'll be able to enjoy as many years with my little buddy Rudy as you did with Potato.

Aw Potato! That's so sad. Losing a loved one is always hard, but when they are someone who lives with you its harder. :(

We too are house rabbit owners-we have two 14 lb. New Zealanders. I'm sorry to hear of your beloved Potato's passing, but happy that he had a wonderful home to reside in, more rabbits should enjoy the love you offered dear little Potato-as they make for wonderful companion pets don't they? And one can learn so much from these fascinating lagomorphs.

Thanks Alison! It's very sad but he was so old and tired. I keep trying to remember that we did the right thing.

Suzanne- Wow, 14 pounds! Those are big rabbits. Potato was teeny, 2.5 pounds at the most.
We really did love him so much, he was our first bun and I hope to have many more. Give your rabbits a big hug for me!

Aww it is so hard to say goodbye to our furry friends, especially if we already treat them as a family member for such a long time.

Awww, Potato -- I know you were such an inspiration to your humans. If you come across my old furry pals Benny and Leo in that special warren in the sky, give 'em a snuffle.

I am so sorry to hear this about Potato. Our pets are such good friends.
I also did not know Potato was so small. Oreo and Jumbles are about 6 pounds or so.
