Color Week Day 4/ Green

Oh green, how I love thee! As a city dweller, I have a deficit of green in my life so whenever I get a chance to see some green life, I take it. Green reminds me of my home in New England, and my husband's home in Oregon so overall, green feels comforting and lush, like a big hug.

looks like: the forest/ the jungle/ a garden abundant with vegetables/ lounging under a palm tree/ the wings of a dragonfly
smells like: a rainy day/freshly mowed grass/Christmas trees/mint
tastes like: a mojito/ lettuce picked from the garden
feels: lush/peaceful/soothing
sounds like: the wind rustling through trees/lying in bed listening to the rain

Color Week Day 3/ Yellow Remember that game you played as a kid where you would hold a buttercuo under someone's chin? If it glowed yellow, it meant they liked butter. That seemed very significant as a child. Yellow feels like warmth, buttery and sunny. I like a touch of yellow with grey or blue. Color Week Day 5/ Blue While Red has always felt like a power color for me, Blue is my most sentimental color because it reminds me of a lot of the women in my family. My maternal grandmother always served food on Blue Onion and Blue Willow dishes, a pattern that my mom grew up to love. And then I fell in love with it too. On the other side of the coin, my paternal grandmother's china was more staid: simple white with a blue band.
